Stargates Theatre was born on stage in September 1974 in a three-part presentation of ritual theatre and dance, as part of “Northern-Lights”, the first astrology conference of-the Canadian Independent Astrologers Order.
The second phase in the growth of this group has produced a profound and truly unique piece of theatre entitled “The Great Round”. Written, produced, and performed by Nancy Ahern, Jennifer Morrow, and Ellen McGinn, the “Round” explores the Feminine Archetype with courage, depth, and clarity, using an astrological formula as a base.
The first performance of “The Great Round” occurred in Toronto at the Summer Solstice of 1975. The Nova Scotia Festival of the Arts found out about the play, and made arrangements for Stargates to appear at their annual Festival at Dalhousie University in Halifax in August, 1975. “The Great Round” was a smashing success; it played to a full house, received a standing ovation, and won praise from the Halifax Mail-Star critics.
Stargates Theatre hopes to perform “The Great Round” to audiences across Canada. For information
